Edward Albee’s masterpiece of wit and interpersonal play.
It’s 2 a.m. George and Martha have just returned home from a faculty party, at which time Martha announces that they are expecting guests, Nick (a fellow professor at the college) and his wife Honey. When the guests arrive, drinks flow, inhibitions melt and the charade begins. During the evening of edgy banter between the couples, it soon becomes apparent that George and Martha are using Nick and Honey as pawns in a game that exposes the bitterness and sadness of long-held secrets finally being revealed.
